My puppy has bloody urine and is vomiting. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 30 days old | 9.19 lbs

I took my puppy who is 6 months old to the vet last Sunday as she was coughing quite a bit and she only brought up white phlegm a couple of days before, she was prescribed bisolvon to break and bring up the phlegm, synulox to help with her chest infection and loxicom to help with pain in her throat as she is coughing. Nearly 1 week gone and she brought up bit blood in her urine last night and vomiting once today but no blood in urine today. Shes feeling very down, should I go back to the vet?

Yes, I would take Lala back into the vet. The blood in the urine is concerning and can be a sign of a UTI or bladder stones. The vet can do blood tests and a urinalysis to diagnose what is causing the blood in her urine so she can be treated. As for the vomiting, deep coughs can sometimes cause a dog to vomit but feeling poorly from a UTI can lead to it as well. It would be a good idea to have her seen by a vet today.
