Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 66 lbs
My dog has had severe itchy skin causing her to itch and nibble at her skin all the time, resulting in chronic wounds on the front of her legs from licking. Hair loss around eyes, stomach and feet. After endless trips to the vets: change of diet, biopsys, different meds and shampoos over 6 years they still have no anwser/diagnosis.. she's currently taking a prednisone/anti-hystimine daily but no improvement

Poor Dee! Without knowing her full, extensive history it is very difficult to know what has been tried so far but my most common recommendations are: a hydrolyzed diet trial such as royal canin hypoallergenic followed by royal canin skin care if no improvement after 6-8weeks; blood testing to identify allergies and possible immunotherapy injections if identified and not able to avoid; apoquel allergy tablets, acupuncture and chiropractic care for nerve irritation; regular flea and mite prevention even if negative (bravecto every 3months or nexguard monthly); splash or allermyl shampoo
