Antibiotics that could be prescribed for secondary skin infections include Clavamox and Cephalexin among others. The type of antibiotic prescribed by your vet depends on the type of bacterial infection they find on Keo's skin. Again, all prescription medication should be used under the direct supervision of your veterinarian.

I assume that you are referring to Demodex mites. Antibiotics are not used for the treatment of the mites themselves, only if a bacterial skin infection is occurring at the same time. There are different anti-parasitic medications that KEO's vet can prescribe if Demodex mites are diagnosed, including ivermectin and Interceptor. KEO should only receive these medications under direct veterinary supervision with appropriate heartworm testing and monitoring, as these medications can have significant adverse effects in some pets.
