Puppy looking frantic, unresponsive, and spinning. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 15 days old | 10 lbs

Hello. My dog is looking back and forth frantically and not responding to any sound or her name. She is only a couple months old and has never done this before. It started about 3 hours ago. There is a specific corner between a table and recliner that she keeps returning to. She looks back and forth frantically, and when we tried taking her outside she spun in circles and continued to not respond to us. She has no known health issues and was given her first set of shots on April 7.

Roux is displaying highly unusual behavior. I'm glad to hear that she has started her vaccines and previously seemed healthy. Since Roux is not responding to you at all, I am concerned that she may be having a "focal" seizure or has ingested a toxin of some sort that is causing abnormal neurological behaviors. After several hours of this behavior with no reprieve, Roux should be examined by a vet to assess her neurologic status and determine if further treatment is indicated. I hope that all goes well!
