My adopted dog has a rash on her belly. Could it be blackheads?

hello, i just adopted my greyhound week or so ago and i noticed she has a grey rash on her belly and when i looked closer it almost looked like blackheads. any idea what it is or how i could treat it?

It could be blackheads (comedones). They develop when dirt and skin secretions collect. It's not uncommon for recent adoptees to come from the kennels with minor rashes or skin irritation. See your veterinarian in case it is something else that may require antibiotics or other topical treatment. Blackheads can be reduced or eliminated by keeping the area clean. A warm compress for 15-30 minutes followed by a witch hazel wipe should eventually clear them. If not, recheck with your veterinarian.
