You can use the Drontal Plus to deworm him now. It is an excellent deworming tablet and you only have to give him one tablet now. You should given him another deworming tablet in a month, and then he should be dewormed every three months thereafter.

Hi there. Yes, you should be able to deworm your puppies at home if you want to. Drontal Plus is approved for use in puppies at least 3 weeks of age and weighing at least 2 pounds - so if your pups are 9 weeks old and weigh 1.2 kg (approximately 2.6 pounds), it should be fine to use. Follow the dosing instructions on the medication label. A 2.6 pound puppy should get 1/2 of a tablet, according to the label instructions.

Drontal is a very safe deworming tablet, so I would give Tofy one table. Doses of up to 10 times the recommended dose will usually only cause some nausea, so giving her a little bit extra will not likely result in any harm. I hope this helps!

Great question! Deworming medications I recommend include Panacur and Drontal. You can get them from your vet's office. If Appu hasn't been dewormed in a while I would give him one treatment now, and then another in two weeks. The first treatment will kill the adults already present while the second in two weeks kills the worms that had not yet hatched at the time of the first deworming treatment. There is not any problem with deworming your dog from a technical standpoint monthly, but if you are finding yourself having to do this there might be a bigger problem at hand. There could be some resistant parasites present in the gastrointestinal tract that require a different medication. I would submit a fecal sample to your veterinarian or perhaps even to a laboratory to have them analyze the sample and check for the type of parasites. The dewormer i usually recommend is called Drontal plus, bear in mind that unlike the flea/tick products, dewormers do not protect your dog from future infestation, it only kills the worms on spot. for fleas and ticks i usually recommend Bravecto tablet or Advantix spot on. all these medications are considered to be high quality and safe.

Most vaccines, such as DAPP (distemper/adenovirus/parvovirus/parainfluenza) must be given every 3-4 weeks until a puppy is at least 16 weeks old. Depending on the date of your puppy's previous vaccine, this could still fall within the ideal vaccine window. Late vaccines are not dangerous, but do not allow time for the body to mount an appropriate immune response against the diseases. In these cases, speak with your vet about giving another booster 3-4 weeks after this one. There should be no concern about giving the deworming tablet a few days late and it will not interact with the vaccine.

If the pups are on a monthly heartworm prevention those typically include prevention for intestinal parasites as well and is the better option for parasite control. Otherwise, I suggest having a fecal sample checked by a vet to ensure there are no parasites in their stool. Piperzine (the active ingredient in WormEze) dose not treat for all parasites that a puppy may have.

Drontal, either Plus or without, is only for removal of worms after your pet has contracted them, it does not prevent them from getting them. If your pet is at risk of picking them up, because they're outside or hunting, then a regular dose can be helpful. The 22.7 mg Drontal plus is labeled for both dogs and cats.
