My dog was attacked, stitches failed, and cheek is hanging. What now?

Hello my dog got attacked by an older dog. Took him to the clinic to get stitches and had to go back that following morning because the stitched came off and had 1 left over, they put staples DIRECTLY on the cut and now I'm dealing with the fact that the piece of his cheek is hanging off again. This is very aggravating, therefore I've been back twice now. Please what should I do now? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 23 days old | 28 lbs

Oh no, I'm so sorry that Zeus was attacked by another dog and you've been having to deal with this. I certainly understand how frustrating this is for you, and I imagine I might frustrate you further with my recommendation. He does have to see a vet again as soon as possible. If that piece of his cheek is hanging off again, it will need to be sutured back into the place. Leaving this piece of cheek hanging off will cause tissue necrosis and the area will not heal correct. He may need to be sedated to have sutures placed again. If you can get him into a vet tonight, I would do that right away. Otherwise, I would have him seen by a vet first thing in the morning. You have my sympathies for such a tough situation :-(
