Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Female | spayed | 3 months and 11 days old
My name is Meytal Raikhman and I'm trying to get in touch my dog's clinic (VCA) in Brockton, MA but I haven't heard from them yet since it's Sunday. I saw today that my dog (Lucy, female, Jack Russell,10 yrs old) has a gland (small -medium - not sure) on her chick near her mouth and I don't know how worried should I be. She is generally a healthy dog, her biggest medical operation this year was dental cleaning in September 2016. Thank you for your help!

Hi Meytal! What you are seeing on Lucy's cheek could be a cyst, an abscess, a benign tumor, or a malignant tumor. As long as she is eating and drinking normally, behaving normally, and going to the bathroom normally, it's not something I would get too worried about just yet. Certainly it needs to be examined and treated by your vet, but I wouldn't considered it an emergency as long as everything else is normal. Have Lucy seen by a vet this week for it :-)
