Is dry, crackling skin around my dog's neuter incision normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 50 lbs

My dog was neutered last saturday and had the groin inflammed. It has now shrinked a lot but the skin on the side of the incision looks like it's dry, crackling. (No redness). Is that normal ?

Yes, you can get some dry skin around the incision area. It's good that there is no redness, however, and once Snoop's suffers are taken out, you can give him an oatmeal bath to help with the dry skin.
