My puppy's cherry eye is gone. Should I keep giving Vetropilycin?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 7 days old | 3.5 lbs

Treating our young pup (9 weeks) for cherry eye using Vetropilycin twice daily applied to the cornea. Been using it for 4 days now, and this morning we noticed the cherry eye was completely gone (visually). Should we continue the Vetropilycin treatment, or stop since the redness is gone?

Best treat for the entire time your veterinarian prescribed and intended the Vetropilycin. If the gland still is in its place on after the holiday weekend, please call your veterinarian and ask him whether you should continue the treatment. He may want to see your puppy for a recheck and assessment before deciding to stop treatment.
