Squirrel fell in pool, now twitching and struggling. Is it dying?

A squirrel fell into our pool and he's been drying by the pool dice we got him out. He keeps trying to walk and sometimes can but other times just lays on his back and stretches/twitches. Does this mean he's dying?

It is quite possible that he is suffering from some neurological disease or some illness which made him fall into the pool in the first place. You could observe him for a while and see whether he recuperates. If not, I would call animal control to pick him up and humanely euthanize him. Unfortunately, squirrels can get infected with plague and rabies amongst other diseases, and therefore do not touch him without gloves (to avoid being bitten), and best not touch him at all.
