Could my cat's increased kidney values be from liver treatment meds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 20 lbs

My cat has been treated at the vet for a week for liver inflamation. While his liver values are all normal or very close to normal now they did notice on this round of blood tests his kidney values have gone slight up. Could this be because of all the medication he has been receiving?

Without knowing the specific medications Caesar is on, I can't say if this medication is affecting his kidney values. Some medications are cleared from the body by the kidneys, but because cats can common develop kidney failure as they age, this increase in kidney values could be due to that. It could also be due to dehydration. I would speak to your vet about their thoughts as to what could be causing his increase in kidney values.
