Hi, my cat has been gagging without actually vomitting anything out and having diarrhea for a few days. I brought him to a vet and she said it was brought about by a change of diet, and I did change his diet almost a week ago. The thing is that my cat has lost his voice and is croaking when he does try to meow. He's usually a very quiet cat and I only realised something wrong with his voice when trying to get him to the vet. I'm curious if the change in diet will also result in his croaky voice?

I'm sorry Boy Boy has been so sick! If he's been gagging for a couple of days, then that could cause the change in his voice. It will be irritating to his throat to be gagging, leading to the croaky voice. There's also a possibility that an illness such as a respiratory infection can cause the change in voice, and if his voice doesn't return or he develops other signs such as coughing and sneezing, I would have him seen by a vet again.
