Did my dog with a brain tumor suffer or die alone when she passed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 94 lbs

My dog passed away today. She had a brain tumor and we had been giving her steroids. I went outside to take the trash out and she was just laying there with her tongue out. It's been haunting me all day, did she die in pain, alone outside?

First off, I'm so sorry you found Emma passed away today! How horrible for you, please accept my condolences for your loss. I certainly hope that she didn't die in pain today, it's likely that her body couldn't handle the burden of the cancer anymore and it was her time to go. She simply reached a point where she could no longer survive with this malignancy, and her body wanted to stop fighting. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss :-(
