My cat is licking her bottom, quiet, and in pain. When to see vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bengal | Female | spayed | 9 months and 26 days old

Hi, I've come home this evening and my 10 month old cat has been very quiet. After approaching her in her bed and enticing her out she seems to be in pain with her back end. She won't let me touch her tail/stomach or back end. She keeps licking her bottom. I noticed this morning she was over cleaning her back end but it wasn't until this evening she showed any signs of pain. Do you have any idea what it could be and should I take her to the vets immediately?

Poor Willow! There is a chance that she could have full, impacted or infected anal glands, or intestinal worms if she is licking her hind end. If she is lethargic and not eating or drinking normally, she see a vet immediately. Otherwise, it may be okay to wait until tomorrow. I hope that she feels better soon!
