My dog ate raw cake batter. What should I do if he's not vomiting?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 2 months old

There was uncooked cake batter in the dustbin & Mike seems to have eaten a fair amount of it. It is drinking only water.No vomiting.What should I do?

He could potentially have diarrhoea and vomiting episodes in the next hours. If there was chocolate in it a check up would be needed otherwise I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.     I think the sickness is unlikely to be related to the chocolate cake, because you would have seen signs earlier than that. If he is otherways eating and drinking and still quite lively , I would not worry. If he is lethargic and vomiting or refusing to eat, best to have him checked over.
