I'm so sorry for your loss! Pets grieve, just as we do. Try to keep your dog's daily routine as normal as possible, while giving your dog some extra attention and exercise as a distraction. Ultimately, grief takes time to process for our four legged friends, just as it does for us.

I am so sorry for your loss. If you still have the dog that died, I suggest you have your dog sniff her and give your dog time to realize that she is dead. Your dog will then not look for her and think she is missing. Dogs can cope very well with death, especially when they actually see their companion dead. Apart from that you should treat it as if nothing happened and keep your dog busy with walks and playing. Do not change your daily routine. This will help your dog get settled again.
