My dog is coughing and gagging, is it dust or something serious?

Hi, in the last 2 hours my dog has been coughing/gagging but nothing coming up. We have been decorating over the last 2 days, could this of irritated him?.. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 6 months old

Poor Jet! If you have been creating a large amount of dust and debris in your decorating, it is possible that Jet is experiencing some airway irritation. However, if he has been exposed to any dogs (on walks, dog parks, groomer, etc.) over the past week, there is also a chance that he has contracted kennel cough or canine influenza. If the cough continues or worsens, he should see his vet.
