My guard dog is too friendly. How can I train him to guard property?

I originally got spring as gaurd dog but he's too freindly how can I make him agressive towards strangers there's no danger of him biting outside the property as there are high fences all around and we have signs that say be aware of the dog the only time he leaves the gates is on a leash we had a stranger pretend to try and steal a digger from our tool yard and Spring ran up wagging his tail have I socialised him to much? How can I get him to gaurd the property? Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 26 days old | 78.8 lbs

As veterinarians, we most often want people to raise safe, socialized dogs that are not going to attack people unprovoked. You likely have a naturally friendly dog that isn't afraid of people, which is what most pet owners actually want. You may have to seek out a dog that has actually been bred and trained to guard property.
