Why is my older dog suddenly dizzy and stumbling? Vet needed?

My Dog seemed to have a short dizzy spell this morning. She is turning 9 this year, so she is getting older. She is a Shepard mix 48 lbs. She came stumbling into the room and was swaying side to side, ran into my leg and then the closet. first thought she was having some sort of stroke. I calmed her down and she seemed to come too her balance. I took her on her walk and she seemed to be fine again after. Should I take her into the vet? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 8 years and 6 months old | 48 lbs

I would consult with your veterinarian and report her symptoms (not an emergency unless she experiences another episode today). Your vet can perform a thorough exam and recommend any other diagnostics to make sure there is nothing obvious that needs treatment. Depending on what they find and if she has more episodes, appropriate treatment can be recommended.
