How to find long-term cat boarding while I'm away at college?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 7 months and 27 days old

Is there any place that watches cats long term I am going to college and dont really have anyone to watch them. I only have to stay in the dorms for 3 months then i can get my own appartment. I am really worried i might have to give him away. He is a bottle-baby so i have a really close connection to him. Thanks in advance!

I would suggest contacting some local boarding facilities that board cats and explaining your dilemma - in many cases, they may be able to do a long-term boarding situation for Buster to keep him until you are able to move into an apartment. I know that we have done this at our clinic a few times for clients in similar situations, so you could also ask your veterinarian if this would be a possibility or if they know of someplace that they would recommend.
