an elderly friend moved in with us as she had no one she came with a dog. The dog is diabetic and eats non stop and sometimes pushes my dog away to eat, he also has a lump in his groin area and wherever he lays my dog sniffs like crazy and is always trying to sniff that area of the dog, Its been to the vet but i'm concerned it may be leaving an odor or something and i don't want my dog to get sick also the non stop eating should dishes of food be put out and then taken up he is over wieght

Hello. There are many aspects going on here. Firstly, the lump on the other dog won't make your dog sick, however if it smells it could be infection that would make the diabetes uncontrollable. Secondly, if the other dog is diabetic it should be on twuce a day feeding with its insulin, also control of the diabetes will control the constant hunger. It sounds like the other dog needs to be seen by a vet to get control and management of the diabetes. Good luck with them.
