White pimples on my dog's belly: Could it be ringworm or allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cardigan Welsh Corgi | Male | neutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 28 lbs

My corgi is 1.5 years old. This morning I noticed what looks like white head pimples on his belly. I read that dog pimples usually start at around 8 months - is he too old for pimples? Should I be worried about ringworm as a cause instead?

It is unlikely ringworm. White pustules are more consistent with a skin infection or pyoderma. Typically, a skin infection occurs secondary to allergies. Follow up with your veterinarian to discuss treatment options.
