Is my puppy ready for daycare after his third shots and Bordetella?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 28 days old | 10 lbs

Is it too soon to take my puppy to daycare? He will be up to date on his 3rd round of puppy shots and Bordetella this Saturday. I work full time so I was planning on taking him to daycare that Monday. He's a very social dog and loves to play with multiple dogs from Corgi's, Labradoodle, Labrador retriever and a Cocker spaniel. Do you think he's too young?

It's too soon now, but he will be fully protective 10 days after Saturday. I know how tough it is to wait it out, but it will all be over soon. Once he is done with the recommended wait period, he can play with other pets his own size at first. Sometimes small dogs and big dogs pose a risk of injury to the smaller dog, so it's best to allow him to fully mature (1 year) before letting him free to play with older large breed dogs like Labradors and Labradoodles (depending on their size). The medium sized and small breed sogs like the Cocker Spaniel and Corgi's should be fine for him.
