Is it normal for my 7-month-old dog to pee every 2 hours at night?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Brittany | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 18 days old | 34 lbs

My 7 month old Brittany has to go out every 2 hours during the night. She will not pee in the house and is relentlessly vocal until someone takes her out to go. I can't keep getting up every two hours. Is this normal Or could she have some sort of infection?

Oh no! You must all be exhausted! By 7 months old, Dixie should be able to go all night without needing to go outside. Her frequent urination could be a result of a urinary tract infection, crystals, or bladder stones. She should see her vet for an exam and urinalysis to rule out any medical problems of her frequent urination.
