Why is my dog vomiting yellow foam after a negative parvo test?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Manchester Terrier (Standard) | Male | unneutered | 10 lbs

I took my dog to the vet last week when he started vomiting. He was tested for parvo and it was negative. He started vomiting again today and it seems to be yellow and foamy

I'm sorry Charlie isn't feeling well at all! As with any test, false negatives are possible, and if he isn't fully vaccinated, parvo could be causing his vomiting. It could also be caused by a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis. Given his recent history of vomiting, I would have him seen by a vet again today to have a retest of the parvo snap test, as well as a physical exam, blood tests, and urinalysis to diagnose what is causing his vomiting so he can be treated.
