Why is my cat having painful loose poop, gas, and throwing up?

Question

My cat has had loose poops for while, bug in recent months had also started to get gas pains with runny poop sometimes even pooping when cringing in pain. He has been throwing up food more occasionally as well. Any idea what could be causing this? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 12 years and 3 months old | 16 lbs

Gage could have any number of gastrointestinal issues including parasites, inflammatory bowel disease, cancer, etc. I would bring a stool sample to your vet and have Gage examined. He might do well on a prescription allergy diet like Hills z/d as well if all the tests appear to be normal. Your vet may want to do blood work and other diagnostics like xrays and ultrasound as well.
