Why is my Rottweiler licking her tail and biting her abdomen?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 17 days old

My Rottweiler female who is 10months old, keeps on biting her tail and licking lower abdominal area very often. I've checked so many times, her skin looks normal and there are no bugs on her. But she still keeps on licking & biting herself. Everything else is normal. Her overall health is superfine. Please suggest what do i do?

I would have Laila seen by a vet for this. She could be suffering from allergies or mites causing her extreme itchiness. It could also be fleas, as they can be quite good at hiding and can be hard to see sometimes. The vet can do blood tests, skin scrapings, and use a flea comb to diagnose what is causing her itching so she can be treated.
