Poor Jake! The injection that most veterinarians give to induce vomiting (apomorphine) normally causes vomiting for 10-15 minutes, but can last longer in some pets. If he's still vomiting for more than an hour or two, I would recommend taking him back for a recheck - there is an anti-nausea injection that can be given if needed to reverse the effects. I would wait until he has gone at least 4-6 hours without vomiting to feed him.

If apomorphine was used intravenously, in my experience dogs don't get sick after they leave the clinic. I would wait several hours to try to feed him. If he is still vomiting 12 hours after your visit, I would return to the clinic for a recheck.
