My dogs' eyes are cloudy. Can outdoor plants cause gradual blindness?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Good day. I would like to know if any plants or any outdoor elements can cause my dogs to go blind. It seems too be gradual and i think i notice it in all 7 of them. One is more severe although it could be age and I might be wrong about the younger ones although their eyes also seem a little whispy. Like there's smoke inside the pupil. Thank you.

Hi! There is nothing outdoors that I am aware of that could cause blindness in multiple dogs. This is what I would suggest you do if you can: take the most affected dog in to see a vet. There might be a really obvious problem with the eyes that your vet can help you solve. They will also be more aware of local plants and issues, that we may not be aware of. Best of luck!
