Is it safe to get a second GSD? Will two male GSDs get along?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 4 months old

As you know bruno is 1 and half year old now & my kids wants 1 more dog also only GSD like bruno so my question is it safe to grow 2 GSD dogs together ? Because my friend told me it's not safe to grow 2 gsd together that can be hazardous as elder one will feel jealous of small one and will tend to fight so tell me should I really adopt GSD or what should I do as my kids loves only gsd please help me out as I mostly on tour so will it be hurdle to grow 2 male gsd or it will be easy or difficult ?

With any two dogs, it's never possible to completely predict whether or not they will get along - they all have different personalities, just like people. But in my experience, I have not found GSDs to have any more problems with multiple dogs in a household than any other breed - indeed, I have several clients with multiple GSDs who all get along fine. I would recommend getting a female if you can, since male/female pairs are the least likely to have any aggression issues with each other. Best of luck with your new dog, if you decide to get one :)
