Puppy sick with lethargy and drooling: Is it an emergency?

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 22 days old | 45 lbs

We are not sure if Walter should be taken to emergency tonight or if he can wait until morning? We live approx. one hour from emergency vet hospital

I am not sure you read it, but I have just replied to your question. ''....Given his age, the lethargy (which is a systemic sign) and the persistency of the signs (now drooling as well) I would recommend a check up at your local veterinarian now. Antibiotics may be needed as often gastrointestinal signs have an infective origin in such young puppies. I am suggesting a check up as in young dogs clinical signs can deteriorate quite quickly and it would be best to have him checked before the night (when you cannot monitoring him).''
