My new dog is underweight, wheezing, and tired. Is she sick?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 8 lbs

Harley is new to our family, we adopted her on 3\29. She is part Chihuahua part terrier (possibly Fox terrier), and we were told she is about 2 years old. She is very underweight and thin, and seems to have a wheezing issue, which is the only way I can thing to describe it - but it is not constant. She seems very sleepy a lot of the time and had less energy than our other dog who is about 5. I don't know much about dog health, but I am worried. Do dogs get colds? Or is this something else?

Hi there! Harley needs to have a wellness visit with your veterinarian who, depending on the physical exam, may want to take xrays of her heart and lungs, and do blood work to evaluate her liver/kidney function. Harley could have a congenital heart or liver issue, or something going on with her upper respiratory tract. This is not likely an emergency, but something you should schedule at your earliest convenience. Hope that helps!
