My dog stepped on a thorn, in pain, won't move. Is she okay?

Hi, our kelpie ran into a sharp thorn/spike from our huge palm tree and although my husband pulled it out completely, she is in a lot of pain. The spike struck her lower part of her front leg. Probably about an inch deep. It's not bleeding but she won't get up and keeps sleeping. This is not like her as she is usually over active. We are worried that it may have poisoned her.. thanks

Have Rylee examined by your veterinarian. The wound should be flushed in case the thorn left foreign material in the puncture. This can lead to infection. Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication may be indicated.
