Why does my young unspayed female cat meow for hours every day?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 2 days old

Hello, my cat is around 1 year old, a little bit under 1 year. It's a female cat that didn't undergo neuter yet. She is generally well behave but she Meows everyday. On a more silent day it is 5 hours. On a worse around 10 hours of meowing. I am at home with her so she is never alone or missing good or entertainment. She can go out on my balcony and i go out for walks with her as well. The only time she doesnt meow is when she sleeps. I have been to vet and she is healthy. Thanks for advice.

Since Pusen is not spayed yet, I'm wondering if she may be in heat - this is a very common cause of excessive vocalization in female cats, especially if she is also rolling around on the ground and yowling. Female cats stay in season almost constantly unless they are pregnant, so if you think this may be the problem, I would recommend having her spayed as soon as you are able to - this should resolve the excessive meowing if it is related to her heat cycle :)
