My puppy was hit by a car, spitting blood, and won't move. What do I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I barely backed over my bulldog puppy and she was spitting up blood and used the bathroom on herself and she won't move her back legs, she is panting and won't drink any water and her eyes are glazed over. I thought she might be paralyzed but when I moved the vehicle she got up and ran so I think her legs are fine.

Oh dear! If your puppy is spitting up blood, not moving her back legs, panting, and her eyes look glazed, she is very badly injured - she needs to see an emergency vet immediately. These are all signs of serious internal injuries. I would recommend putting her in the car immediately and taking her to your nearest ER for an exam and treatment to see what can be done for her.
