My dog has thick, crusty, cracking skin with open sores. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 10 years and 11 months old | 100 lbs

On front side of my dog going towards shoulder blades, thick crusty skin not itching it , cracking and chunks falling off with red open soars underneath

This sounds quite severe, and certainly not normal. Jasmine could have a hormonal disease (Cushing's disease or hypothyroidism), parasites (not all are itchy), or a type of cancer called cutaneous lymphoma. I recommend an immediate visit to the vet for some testing to determine what is wrong, and how to treat it.
