Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 3 years and 2 months old | 22 lbs
Hello; I have a small dog roughly no bigger than 23 lbs. with hair length like a pug & she's mostly a mini greyhound w/ a wonderful disposition & in great health. My problem is that I think she sheds way too much. She has me sweeping up a handful of her hair on my bed roughly 2-3 times a day. Could this possibly be a dietary problem or perhaps a vitamin she's missing in her diet? Please help because I swear if she were any other dog, she'd be bald by now.

Excessive shedding is not likely due to a vitamin or mineral insufficiency if Tippy Toes eats a commercial dog food, but some dogs do seem to respond to a change in diet. It is also possible that she is a seasonal shedder and that this is normal for her. If she seems itchy or her skin is dry and flaky or red I would recommend seeing your veterinarian since some skin diseases can also cause excessive shedding. You could ask about recommended diets during your visit.
