My dog has sudden itchy bumps. Could it be an allergic reaction?

Hi my pug has had bumps show up over her legs and body in the last two hours she does not seem in pain but very itchy maybe even sore? Maybe a allergic reaction? Should i be worried ?

Hello. This sounds like it might be an allergic reaction. This could result in swelling around the airways. If hives are present (raised, haired bumps about 1cm across), then I would suggest a visit to the vet for some medications. Good luck with your little one!

    This could be hives from an environmental allergic reaction. I'd take Swayde into a vet immediately. The problem with allergic reactions is that they can quickly progress to facial swelling and subsequent respiratory distress. That has to be avoided, so the sooner she is treated, the better. I hope this helps!

    These look like they could be hives (also known as urticaria). Hives most commonly form secondary to an allergic reaction. They are typically itchy although some dogs don't seem to be as affected as others. An allergic reaction is often treated with Benadryl and sometimes a corticosteroid and it would be best to see your veterinarian for a diagnosis. Sometimes an allergic reaction can progress and cause facial swelling - if you see this you should see an emergency veterinarian right away since the swelling could affect the nose and throat.
