Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | unspayed
My Rottweiler has tried to mate 17 days ago now past 2 days she has blood in her urine . Don't the dogs have to lock to be pregnant ? And do you think she just has a urinary track infection ? ? Going to see the vet but wanted an opinion

No, dogs don't have to lock to become pregnant, and yes it is possible that Roxy has a UTI if she has blood in her urine. I would take her into a vet as soon as possible for a physical exam, routine blood tests, and urinalysis to diagnose if she does have a UTI. Should she have one, the vet can prescribe medications to treat it. As for seeing if she's pregnant, she needs to be at least 21 days along in order for the hormone relaxin to show up in her blood. Relaxin is produced by dogs when they are pregnant. She should see a vet today for the blood in the urine, and then I would wait until next week to take Roxy back into the vet to confirm if she is pregnant or not.
