My dog's tail is limp after swimming. How can I ease her pain now?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 3 years and 1 month old | 54 lbs

My dog was swimming today and now her tail is limp and she's crying. I think she has sprained her tail. until I get her to the vet in the morning, what can I do to ease her pain?

You need to limit her movement as much as you can, keep her calm in the house, on her bed if possible, the less she moves the less she will feel the pain. if the tail is limp a fracture is one possibility, she might need an xray to rule it out.
