Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old | 85 lbs

Hi. My Pit has a growth on his right thigh. About a dime size now. It's scabby now because he has been licking and kinda biting at it. Should I get alarmed?

Any growth is a cause for concern, especially if it is bothering Hercules. It could be a cyst, benign tumor, or a malignant tumor (unlikely in a young dog). I would have him see by a vet to diagnose the cause of this growth so it can be treated.

This could be an abscess, cyst or a tumor. Best to have it examined by a veterinarian who can empty and flush an abscess/evacuate a cyst or take a small biopsy of the growth to determine whether it needs to be removed as soon as possible.
