My 12-year-old dog has a fatty leg mass. Is a biopsy needed?

Hi there my 12 year old dog has a mass on her leg which has been xrayed, bloods done and a needle aspirate taken. There is no bone involvement, no infection and the needle aspirate showed fatty cells only. She is not perturbed by the mass and is able to move freely. She has no issues over it. Do you think I should have a biopsy done anyway?

If the needle aspirate showed fatty cells only, I would monitor it for now. Lipomas (fatty tumors) are typically benign, although in rare instances they can become malignant. If the mass gets larger or it starts causing her problems, then I would have the biopsy done and discuss with the vet possibly removing it.
