My cat drinks more water, has sweet-smelling urine. Any home remedies?

My cat is 13 yrs old, indoor cat and seems to be drinking more water than usual, but her litter box has a really sick sweet smell when she goes. Unfortunately, I'm in between jobs right now and can't afford to take her to the vets, is there any home remedy I can use to help her? Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 12 years and 9 months old | 8 lbs

Hello! I'm afraid it sounds like Kit T Kat may have diabetes, but unfortunately there is no home remedy for this! She needs to have some bloodwork done, and, if she has diabetes, may need to be on insulin. Sorry to hear about this! Hope you are able to take her in.
