My kitten sleeps constantly after vacation, vet says he's fine.

Pet's info: Cat | Scottish Fold | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 10 days old

Our kitten Simba is now 7months old. We left him with my inlaws for 2weeks as my husband and I went away.He was fine at my inlaws, lots of company there and kids played with him a lot!! Since I picked him up 3 days ago he has not been himself. Not interested in playing, doesn't want us touching him, he just sleeps constantly. He eats/drinks normally and then go back to sleep. It's almost like he's been sedated! Vet checked him and said there's no health concerns. How do I cheer him up?

I'm glad to hear that Simba's vet examined him and cleared him of possible medical concerns. It is possible that Simba was kept so stimulated and active during the two weeks with your in laws that he is simply catching up on sleep. This is a fairly common occurrence when pets are outside of their normal routine during a vacation, either in a kennel setting or with pet sitters/family. Give Simba another day or two to sleep off his exciting two weeks, and he should hopefully be back to normal. That said, if he stops eating or drinking at any point, call your vet to have him rechecked.
