Why does my old chihuahua snore extremely loudly while sleeping?

Some breeds are more prone to snoring when they sleep due to the shape of their heads, but it could also be due to the position Woogie is sleeping in at night. If she is overweight, that can be causing her to snore, or a health issue such as an abscessed tooth that has made it's way into the nasal passages can cause snoring. If Woogie has always snored, then she likely doesn't need a vet visit, but if this is something that she has suddenly started doing, then I would have her seen by a vet for a health check.

It is quite normal for them to snore. It is possible that he naturally has a longer soft palate which makes him snore loudly. If he isn't labored breathing and it isn't waking him up, then I wouldn't be too concerned. If you aren't sure, you could always have your vet examine him and watch the videos just to give you a peace of mind. I hope this helps!
