My dog has sudden breathing issues at night, like a heart attack.

Hi I just brought my dog from Italy to London, before travelling he had to get rabies and tapeworm vaccinations. Few weeks ago he suddenly started having like breathing problems, in the middle of the night he wakes up having like an heart attack, can't breath properly, he gets scared, nervous and he doesn't open the mouth, like being claustrophobic. Do you think he could be sick? Or having any sides effects from the vaccinations? Thanks in advance for your support, Roberto

Hi Roberto! It sounds like Lego may be sick. If he was having a reaction from the vaccines, I would expect to see those symptoms quite soon after receiving the vaccines. I definitely would have him seen by a vet for this within in the next couple of days. Even though he's a young dogs, there's a possibility his symptoms could be caused by a heart problem. Having a physical exam, blood tests, urinalysis, and chest x-rays would be a good idea.
