Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Spinone Italiano | Male | unneutered | 59 lbs

Hi, I'm hoping you can give me an answer to our problem we have been having with our 10 year old staff! In the last year he has gone for me 3 times, been bitten once on the hand & this morning he has bitten my brother on the hand also, He is a big part of out family and are exploring other routes to take rather then having to have him put down. Any response would be appreciated. Thank you Aaron

Hi Aaron, I hope I can help you with Taz! I would recommend first neutering him, and then having him seen by a professional behavioral expert. Aggression in dogs can be hormonally related, and having his testicles removed can help reduce that aggression. Having him seen by a professional behavioral experts is also important. Working with aggressive dogs can be dangerous, and I never recommend owners do it on their own. That is a situation that is best left to an expert. I would speak to your vet about a referral to a professional behavior to work with your family and Taz. Hope this helps :-)
