What is this fur-free, bean-shaped lump on my golden retriever's leg?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 80 lbs

The dog is an 8 y. o. golden retriever male with a skin lesion in his leg that is irregular, fur free, bean shaped, +- 3 inches, with 1 small black spot in a corner, looking like a lightly inflated bean baloon. He once had 2 other similar lesions on his neck.

It is very hard without seeing it, however what you are describing sounds most like a wart or cyst, but you can't rule out other possibilities like tumors. If it is not growing or bugging him then just get to the vet when you can for a quick check.
