My German Shepherd is limping on his hip. Is it his old sebaceous cyst?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | neutered | 4 years and 7 months old

I have a 5yr old male, purebred German Shepard, he’s favouring his left hip which he previously had a sebaceous cyst that seems to still be bothering him also, could one have something to do with the other?

It is possible that one could have something to do with the other, but he could also be suffering from hip problems. Those are unfortunately common in large breed dogs such as GSDs, and I would have Taser seen by a vet tomorrow. The vet can do a lameness exam and x-rays to see what is causing him to favor his left hip. Once a cause is found, the vet can discuss treatment options with you.
